Today, I am giving thanks for my childhood.
I am so blessed to have had the childhood that I did. My parents always made sure that we had fun and had everything we needed. Sometimes they went above and beyond and my brother and I got far more than we ever deserved. It’s quite like the way God treats me as His child. I don’t deserve anything that God has given to me, and yet, He continues to bless me day after day.
When I was really young, my parents traveled around to churches and sang in a gospel group. It gave me the opportunity to meet people from all over, form friendships, and learn about Christ. Oh, the stories I could tell….
I remember traveling all over the place: Disney World, Arizona, even Hawaii. I had opportunities that most kids only ever dream of.
My kids may not get everything that I did when I was a child, but I hope they, too, can look back and one day be thankful for their childhood. For having parents that loved them more than anything and would do anything for them.
What are you thankful for today?
