30 Days of Giving Thanks: Day 9

Today, I am giving thanks for my friend, Stephanie.

My entire childhood, I prayed and prayed and prayed that God would send me a sister. 30 Days of Giving Thanks

I wanted to have that one person in my life that I could talk to about anything. I guess, really, I just wanted that one special girl friend.

I was very lucky to have good friends while growing up. I could give you names of people over the years that have touched my life in one way or another. But, that’s another post for another day. Today is about my friend Stephanie.

I only met Steph and her family a few years ago. Her kids started coming to our church and got saved. Shortly after that, Steph and her husband started coming, and they too got saved.

Steph is the one person in my life right now, {besides by husband, of course}, that I can go to about anything. I can tell her things in the strictest confidence and not have to worry that the entire town will soon know my business. I can cry on her shoulder. I can laugh over the silliest things with her. I can pray with her, talk with her, and just feel better when I’m with her.

Not only that, but she is willing to watch ALL of my children so that I can go on a much-needed date with my husband. No complaints, no sighs, just “hurry up and get those kids over here!” How many people would do that for their crazy friend with 6 kids? Not many. I promise you that.

Steph, if I haven’t told you how much I love and appreciate you, I’m telling you now. My life is better because you are in it. I am so thankful that the Lord put you in my life. You have been there for me more times than I can count. You truly are the sister I always wanted and finally got. I only hope that I am half the friend to you that you are to me. I love you!

What are you thankful for today?
