I went back to the doctor today. The original intent of the appointment was to see how my blood pressure was doing. At my last appointment, it was pretty high. He wanted me to monitor it at home, and then see me back in 2 weeks instead of 4.
When I got to the appointment, all the regular stuff happened – urine sample given, weight check (down 2 pounds!), and then the blood pressure check. My blood pressure ended up being 149/74. Not fabulous, but not terrible either. He opted not to put me on any kind of blood pressure medicine because it could bring that bottom number even lower, and then I would really be dragging.
I talked to him more at length about my panic attacks, and how I’d noticed they’d gotten much worse – and usually while I’m driving. Taking the 4 lane about kills me now. But, I’ve also not gotten much sleep at all over the last 2 weeks. Hubby’s boss is on vacation, so he’s in charge. He’s been up at 4:30am every day, and like a good wife, I’d been getting up with him. (It’s also perfect for my quiet time and then actually getting things done before the kids get up.) The doctor said that because I’m only getting 5 – 6 hours of sleep a night, I’m literally exhausted, and it could be making the panic attacks worse. For the next 4 weeks, I need to sleep as much as possible. (Both the doctor and I laughed, because how much can one sleep with 5 kids?) Basically, no more getting up at 4:30, and I need to take a nap if at all possible during the day. The first trimester is exhausting to begin with, but I’ve really been pushing it with so little sleep. So, I don’t know when I’ll ever get anything done online, but my health and my baby’s health will always come first. The rest of the stuff will fall into place, I’m sure.
Since I was already there, he did another ultrasound for me. I am truly blown away at how much “Jelly Bean” has grown in just 2 weeks. It went from looking like a bean to an actual baby. Simply amazing.
Here’s the latest picture of Jelly Bean at just over 8 weeks:
