April 13th

We were sitting in church tonight, and our church doesn’t have a nursery on Sunday nights. Someone handed us a doll to keep Lulu quiet, but Lu had NO desire to hold the doll. Jace took the doll and started playing with it. He squeezed the toes of the doll, and all of a sudden, the doll starts talking, “This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home…..” The entire time, Gene and I are trying EVERYTHING to get this doll quiet. Gene puts the doll behind his back to muffle the sound, and you hear, “We, we, we, all the way home….. and then giggling for about 30 seconds straight.”

A few of the ladies behind us were trying not to laugh, but they just couldn’t help it. It’s not something you often hear in the middle of a sermon.

I turned to Jace and said, “You are NOT allowed to touch the doll again!”

He looks at me with his big puppy dog eyes and says, “But, Mom! I just wanted to make sure she was awake!”

Yeah, well, at least we knew most of the church was awake after that!

This was so funny. I love reading your posts. My little one isn’t talking quite yet, but I have these type of things to look forward to. 🙂
