Well, that’s just what Battle Machines R/C Vehicles from Jada Toys do. These aren’t your typical R/C cars. They are so much cooler, and they are totally unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
My boys (ages 6 and 7) are very, very into R/C cars right now, and every time they see a commercial or we pass one in the store, you can be sure the first words out of their mouths will be, “I want that.”
When the Battle Machines arrived at our house, I opened the box with Parker, my 2 year old, standing next to me. As soon as he caught a glimpse of what was inside, that was all it took. My goal had been to hide the cars from the boys until we could pull them out of the box and do a proper review, but that didn’t happen. As soon as the boys got home from school that day, Parker revealed my secret: I had a box of cars they HAD to see.
And play they did. My kitchen floor quickly became their track, and a battle of laser tag was started. Jace typically has a hard time “losing” anything, but he was laughing and having so much fun with this toy that he didn’t care whether he won or lost.
I was shocked to read some negative reviews online for these toys, because we have had a BALL with them. Yes, the batteries run out fairly quickly, but that’s only because my boys play with them all.the.time. They can’t get enough of them. I switched to rechargeable batteries to save money, and it’s made a big difference in cost. You do have to stand fairly close to them, (Note: not right on top of them – within 10 – 15 feet), but my boys don’t seem to mind at all. In fact, I’ve not heard one complaint out of them since they started playing with these. The cars don’t move really fast, but I think that’s a very good thing. The point is to play “tag” and by not going super fast, there’s a lot less damage to the cars when they wreck. (And they sure do wreck!) I haven’t let them take them outside, and I’m pretty sure that I won’t, but they really work great indoors.
Overall, I am really impressed with the Battle Machines R/C Vehicles, and my boys are too. It’s one less thing they have to ask Santa for, and I *know* this would have been at the very top of their list. I would definitely recommend the Battle Machines R/C Vehicles to any family with boys – young or kid at heart.
