Disclaimer: I received a vtech Cora the Smart Cub in order to facilitate my review. Opinions expressed are 100 my own and have not been influenced in any way. I have not been compensated in any other way for this post.
Carly, our 7 month old, has a new best friend. Her name is Cora the Smart Cub, and she has become one of the family.
Not only is Cora the Smart Cub super cute, she is also really smart! She knows if it’s morning, afternoon, or evening. She even knows if it’s a holiday! And the best part? She knows Carly’s name. Not only does she know Carly’s name, but she also knows several other names of friends and family members. I love just how much I can personalize Cora for Carly.
The stories Cora tells are cute. While I don’t think Carly fully understands them yet, this is a feature that she will soon grow into.
My absolute favorite feature of Cora, though, is her bedtime music option. This has helped us establish a concrete naptime and bedtime routine for Carly.
Had you asked me about Carly’s bedtime routine about a month ago, there probably would have been some tears shed. (MY tears!) Carly would fight being in her bed so hard that eventually I would give up and just sleep in my recliner with her on my chest. It wasn’t very good for any of us.
I decided to give the nighttime music a try, and after 2 rough nights, it was totally worth it.
I can now put her in her bed, turn on 30 minutes of nighttime music by pushing the button on Cora’s foot a couple of times, and Carly immediately knows it’s time for bed. Naptime or bedtime, it doesn’t matter. I turn on that music, and she gets that she needs to go to sleep. Oh, how I love it. It is so nice to be able to put her to bed and not have to wonder how long I have before she’ll be screaming. (Thank you, vtech and Cora!!)
Overall, I would highly recommend Cora the Smart Cub to any parent with a little girl 6 months old or older. This toy isn’t one that your child will quickly outgrow. It’s a toy that will become your child’s friend and companion for several years to come. And because Cora retails for around $19.99, she is definitely an investment you can afford to make. (Right now, Cora is available on Amazon for $19.99 with free shipping if you spend $25.)
