eGift Social Makes Gift Giving Easy! (Review)

Having lived in the Chicago suburbs, NE Ohio, and now the Georgia Mountains, I have lots of friends and family in each place, as well as scattered all over other parts of the USA. Giving gifts can be difficult. Really difficult. If I buy presents to send, I’m charged an arm and a leg in shipping costs. So, I typically resort to giving gift cards. Which, gift cards are great. Don’t get me wrong. They allow friends and family to get exactly what they want, and they don’t have to wait in line to exchange them for something they really wanted.

Have you ever been traveling, and suddenly remembered that you forgot to get Cousin Sue a gift? What do you do? If you stop at a store and buy a gift card to drop in the mail, it will never make it there on time. Then, Cousin Sue will forever remember the year you forgot her and sent her gift late.

What if I told you there was a way to prevent that scenario from happening? Well, lucky for us, there is! eGift Social from First Data allows you to send gifts right from Facebook! Talk about easy! And, with just a simple code that can be redeemed at any location, the recipient of your gift can pull up their activation code on their phone or online to use no matter where they live. I love the idea behind it, and the convenience!

Here’s a short blurb about eGift Social:
Innovative new application from First Data that lets people quickly and easily send real gift items (like an ice cream treat, a cup of coffee, a sandwich, or a movie ticket) from some of their favorite stores to their friends on Facebook or by e-mail. Friends are notified by e-mail, Facebook wall posts or both. The message includes an account number that is redeemable for a real gift at participating merchant locations.

The First DataSM eGift SocialSM application is a cool new way to send your friends real gifts from their favorite stores. In just a few easy steps you can send a gift and your friend will be notified in real time, either on Facebook or by e-mail.

With the ability to buy gift certificates to places like Sears, Kmart, Sephora, Boston Market, Burger King, Dots, and more, it’s easy to find exactly what you need for any recipient. And it’s super easy for them to claim, which makes gift giving that much more fun!

Mom Central and First Data sent me a Kmart gift card and a Sephora gift card to test out for myself. It was so easy to pull up the email on my phone and get just what was on the gift certificate right there in the store.

I will definitely be using the eGift Social application for my gift-giving needs from now on. And, since it’s through Facebook, I have easy access to friends and family’s birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events. I love having everything all in one place and easy to access.

If you’re still struggling with last minute gifts, definitely check out the eGift Social application, and make someone’s holiday this year!

Disclaimer: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of First Data and received an eGift Social gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.

This is so neat, and I love that it’s easy to use! I just ordered some baby clothes online at Kmart with an eGift code I had and it worked just like a gift certificate. So easy. 🙂
