Happy Anniversary to Us!

Today, my husband and I celebrate 8 wonderful years of marriage. Although, honestly? Feels like we’ve been together forever. Sure, there have been others in the past. Heck, Gene married me and I was already a mom. But, those past relationships are gone, and all but forgotten. God has given me the most amazing husband, and I am so blessed.

Of course, we can’t neglect to mention that my husband has not only put up with 1 pregnancy in our 8 years together… or even 2. Nope. He has dealt with 5 pregnancies full of bed rest, mood swings, pre-term labor, and more complications than we’d care to count. And he’s stuck right by my side, brought me Taco Bell every time I needed it (or chocolate cake, or watermelon in February), and he’s never complained. Ever. That’s saying a lot, isn’t it? And, there’s the way he’s always been with Ashley. Ashley’s never known another father, and Gene stepped right into the role of her “Daddy” and hasn’t looked back. He’s loved her like his very own from the day we said I do.

I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband. God gave me exactly what I needed, exactly when I needed it. Now, we’ve got a gorgeous family, and a life that I wouldn’t trade for the world.

We’ll celebrate by heading to the doctor for my 12 week appointment. Gene will finally get to see the baby on the screen, instead of just in the pictures I bring home to him. I’m just so glad he has the day off so we can spend it together.

If you’re blessed to have a husband that loves you and would do anything for you, give him a squeeze today and let him know how much you appreciate him.

I too have a Hubby who ventured out to get me watermelon in January and Febuary!
Do you remember the movie that this scene is from???
I luv this movie soooooo much that when it was playing at a theater over 50 miles away, my husband-to-be set up a dinner and movie date to take me to see it.
It is the wonderful Disney movie "Lady and the Tramp!" Jim Dear braves the snow storm to bring his expecting Darling watermelon in winter.
I am glad we both found our Jim Dears, CONGRATS!
