Back in January of 2006, I decided to start a pregnancy blog. Who would have thought that just a few years later, the blog would have started such a passion for me?
You can read Lucy’s birth story here. I can still remember that day like it was yesterday. I was so excited to be getting another little girl. Ashley was too old to let me dress her up and put bows in her hair, and I couldn’t exactly do it to the boys, so I was looking forward to having another baby girl in the house. I felt like we waited all day for her to make her appearance, and once she was finally here, I never wanted to put her down.
I also remember how the boys were just mesmerized by her. They absolutely adored her, and couldn’t stop touching her and looking at her. It was so sweet. To this day, Jace is still Lucy’s protector. He’ll take care of anyone who tries to hurt his little sister. (Not that Lucy can’t take care of herself, but it’s always nice to have someone back you up now and then!)
Lucy is full of fire, and the thing that scares me the most is that she is just like I was at her age – right down to the curly hair and the fiery temper. I’m predicting a world of trouble when she becomes a teenager.
In the 3 years we’ve had Lucy, we’ve moved from Ohio to GA, watched her learn to walk (and fall!), had broken limbs, and have battled potty training, tantrums, and so much more. Lucy has filled every single day with love, joy, and so much life. She is truly a blessing to have, and I am lucky to be her Mommy.
Lulu, thank you for being such a sweet girl. Thank you for making me smile every single day. Your contagious laugh, your crazy hair, and your never-give-up attitude are just a part of what makes you so special. Thank you for your hugs, your singing, and all the love you show to everyone you meet. You are quickly turning into a beautiful little lady, and I am so very proud of you!
