Hickory Farms Offers Wonderful Holiday Gifts (Review)

I have been a long time fan of Hickory Farms. In fact, when we lived in Ohio, and were at the mall all the time during the holiday season, I could never resist just walking by the Hickory Farms kiosk. I always had to stop and look, and that meant I ended up buying something. The quality of their meats and cheeses far surpasses any others that I’ve had, and their prices are incredibly reasonable considering everything that comes in their packages. We no longer live in Ohio, and our nearest mall is now 3+ hours away, but luckily, Hickory Farms has a website where you can view (and order!) all their gift box selections. Yay!

I would always purchase their gift boxes with the intent of giving them as gifts. However, I was always hosting some sort of get-together at my house, and I quickly discovered that putting the sausage and cheeses out on a tray was always the hit of the party. To this day, if I’m hosting a get-together, or if I’m invited to one, odds are very good that I’ll be bringing along a tray filled with Hickory Farms goodies.

This year, Hickory Farms is featuring 5 signature gift boxes ranging in price from $16 to $100. There’s something for every budget! And once again this season, Hickory Farms will be donating $5 from each Party Planner Gift Box purchased to the Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign.

Another wonderful thing that Hickory Farms does is provides free military shipping to APO/FPO addresses on select products. What a great way to allow our troops all over the world share in the holiday traditions they’ll be missing out on this year.

My Review of Hickory Farms
Well, I’ve already told you how much I love Hickory Farms. But, let’s get to the specifics and talk about the product I was sent for this review: The Home for the Holidays Gift Box.

When the box arrived, I couldn’t wait to get it open. The box and the filler paper inside were very eco-friendly, but still the high quality you expect from Hickory Farms. And when I opened the box, my mouth immediately started watering. What an amazing display of sausages, cheeses, and crackers, just waiting to be cut up and enjoyed. My intention was to cut it all up and make a beautiful tray for our church’s Thanksgiving meal. Yeah, that didn’t happen. As soon as the kids caught a glimpse of what was inside the box, they all wanted some. I was able to hold them off for a couple of days, but it wasn’t long before we were all dying to have a taste. We ended up going over to my MIL’s one day last week during the kids’ Thanksgiving break, and we took over our tray of meats, cheeses, and crackers to enjoy.

I have to tell you that my kids are the pickiest eaters on earth. I figured there would be no way they would try the meat, the different kind of cheeses, or the crackers, but they sure proved me wrong! It didn’t take long for the tray to be licked clean, and everyone enjoyed everything in the box. I wish I had a second box, because I’d love to make up another tray for our church’s upcoming Christmas dinner in a few weeks.

Overall, I am still very, very impressed with Hickory Farms and will continue to use them for my own holiday needs as well as for gift giving… if I can give the boxes up! 🙂 I would highly recommend them to any busy mom who is looking for the perfect holiday gift to give to someone they love.

YUM! This is what I should buy for John for Christmas – he's so hard to buy for sometimes but loves summer sausage and cheese!

I had forgotten about Hickory farms. Haven't ordered from them in years. I remember my cousin use to send us a gift from them every year, and it was always better than I expected.
