The boys were excited about getting to spend time with Nana (my mom) today. The plan was for me to run to the grocery store, pick up a few items for dinner tonight, then swing by Nana’s hotel and pick her up so that we could have the whole day together.

Jace picked out some clothes and came running out of his room. He asked, “Mom? Can we go to Nana’s house now? I’m all ready!”

I told him that we couldn’t go to Nana’s house because it’s in Ohio. We had to go to her hotel and pick her up.

He looks at me with the most puzzled look on his face and asks, “She has a hotel? Do we have to drive all the way there to get her? That will take for LONG!”

Poor kid was thinking of the hotel we stayed at in Pigeon Forge a few weeks ago. Took about 2 1/2 hours to get there. He just didn’t want to deal with that drive again! He sure was glad to know she was right across from the grocery store. We go there often enough that they know it’s not a long way away!

Driving accross the street was always too far for my Blake when he was little. I hope Jace had a good time with his grandma.
