Jace and I ran to the grocery store today. While we were there, I grabbed a big bag of sugar off the bottom shelf. I groaned as I picked it up to put it in the cart and said, “Jace, Mommy’s getting old!” Jace asked, “What happens when you get old?” I said, “Well, you start to fall apart.”
We walked a few more aisles and I told him that I loved him. He said, “I love you, too, it’s just too bad you won’t be my mommy forever.”

I asked him what he meant, and he said, “Well, when you fall to pieces, you can’t be my mommy anymore!”

OhmiGOODDD. I remember taking it literally when my mother said that to me, too. How funny.

LOL, I’ve said that to my daughter before and she always says “well I guess we have to throw you in the dumpster and get a new mommy then.”
