Here’s our conversation on the way to church this evening:

Z: “Mom. I told Isabella she was my girlfriend today, and do you know what she said?”
Me: “What did she say?”
Z: “She said ‘No!’! Do you believe it?”
Me: “Well, honey, sometimes girls don’t want boyfriends. Sometimes they would rather just be friends.”
Z: “Well, she’s still my girlfriend.”
Me: “JJ, do you want a girlfriend?”
JJ: “Nah.”
Me: “Don’t you boys want to get married some day and be as happy as me and Daddy?” (NOT that I’m rushing them, mind you.)
Z: “I do. Do you know when?”
Me: “When?”
Z: “When me and Isabella are bigger.”
Me: “Oh yeah? And how old will you be?”
Z: “UUuuummmm……. Like 5!”
