May 10th

This afternoon, I took the kids to a store to pick out Mother’s Day gifts for my mom and my mother-in-law. Here’s how my conversation with Zander went while inside the store:

Zander: “Mom! I need this Spiderman watch. Look! They have two. You can get one for Jace, too!”
Me: “Honey, I just don’t have the money right now. And you know you have a birthday coming up soon, so Daddy and I don’t think we should be buying you things right now.”
Zander: “But, Mom. My birthday is so far away, and I need the watch right now. You have a credit card. You can just buy it with that, right? Daddy doesn’t need to know. I won’t tell him if you won’t.”
