Last week, I had the opportunity to take a special someone to Starbucks so that I could try out the new Oprah Chai Tea and spend some one-on-one time with someone I love.
There were so many women that I wanted to take out to tea, but I decided on my niece Samantha. Samantha is a working woman now, and I wanted the chance to reconnect with her and find out what’s been going on in her life. I think it’s important that we (ahem, cough cough) older ladies take the younger women under our wings – encourage them, uplift them, and be an example of the wife and mother we want them to be one day.
Samantha and I had a wonderful visit. It was so nice to sit and talk with her and find out how work was going, what kinds of things she and her friends are up to, and just relax with someone I care about for even just a short amount of time.
When we got to Starbucks, I ordered the Iced Oprah Chai Tea. Our weather has already turned warm, and by the afternoon, it was dreadfully hot. An Iced Chai Tea was just what my pregnant belly wanted. It was naturally sweet and so, so yummy! I’m pretty sure I downed it in less than 2 minutes.
I have to say that I *love* that Starbucks now offers Chai tea. I am not a coffee drinker at all. Never have been. But I love Starbucks. Now, with their hot and cold versions of Chai tea, they are making it so much more difficult to narrow down my choices when it’s time to order. Of course, that’s a good problem to have! 🙂
The Oprah Chai Tea is a bold, wonderful tea full of flavors that include cinnamon, ginger, cardamom and cloves all blended with loose-leaf black tea and rooibos. It has a flavor unlike any other tea I’ve ever tasted, and that’s probably because Oprah Winfrey worked closely with Teavana’s special teaologists to develop her own distinctive blend of tea. You won’t find anything else like it, and it’s only available in the US and Canada at Starbucks and Teavana stores.
There are several other “perks” to this tea that I want to make sure you’re aware of:
- First, Starbucks will be making a donation for every Teavana Oprah Chai product they sell. These donations will go to benefit youth through the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy Foundation to further their educational opportunities. PLEASE take a moment and visit the Steep Your Soul website to learn more about the organizations that will be supported through this awesome partnership.
- Second, this Mother’s Day, (which is Sunday!), Starbucks will be offering a special Buy One Get One Free deal on their Teavana Oprah Chai Tea beverages. What a great way to spoil Mom just a little bit, and get something fabulous for yourself in return.
Ok, readers… it’s nap time in my house, so that means it’s the *only* quiet time this mama gets during the day. I think I’m going to go make myself some Teavana Oprah Chai Tea, relax, and enjoy the quiet… for however long it lasts.
Before I go, tell me: Will you be treating Mom to Starbucks and a Teavana Oprah Chai Tea this Mother’s Day?
