New French’s Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce (Review)

Life with 5 kids means that chicken nuggets are pretty much a staple in our house. I never hear any complaints when chicken nuggets are on the menu because all of the kids just love them. I, however, feel that chicken nuggets need something more. Enter my good friend, Honey Mustard.

My favorite honey mustard prior to this review was found in the salad dressing aisle and cost about $6/bottle. {OUCH!} I didn’t purchase it very often at all, and it was treated like liquid gold in our house because it’s so expensive. So, when I had the opportunity handed to me to test out new French’s Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce, I jumped at the chance. Could it really taste as good as my pricey honey mustard?

Before I get to my review, here’s some information from the French’s website:

Introducing the sweet dipping sauce that makes ordinary foods delicious and fun! Made with real honey and #1 grade mustard seeds, FRENCH’S® Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce is sweet, smooth and creamy. It’s great for dipping your favorite chicken nuggets and fries. Or use it to liven up everyday snacks like carrot sticks, pretzels and cheese. French’s Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce brings smiles to snack time!

My Review of French’s Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce
The afternoon my French’s Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce arrived, I had just finished up making my homemade fried chicken. {Yes, I do know how to make some things from scratch.} While my chicken is so good that it doesn’t need a dipping sauce, {Really!}, I still wanted to give the new French’s Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce a try, and so did all of the kids.

Oh.My.Word. It was like heaven sent this dipping sauce to me. So rich and creamy, I couldn’t get enough of it. And then, I did the unthinkable: I pulled out my pricey honey mustard to compare.

I put each dipping sauce into their own bowl, and didn’t tell any of the kids which was which. {Yep, I was going to let my kids try my pricey honey mustard – something they’d never done before!} I had them try both sauces, and 4 out of 5 of them actually preferred the French’s Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce. Although, I’m not sure Parker’s vote should really count. He just loves to dip things, so he had honey mustard up to both elbows. In all honesty, I couldn’t taste much difference – definitely not enough of a difference to justify spending $6/bottle on future purchases of honey mustard.

Because it’s made by French’s, a brand I know and already love, I don’t have to worry about what the sauce is made of. They use real honey and #1 Grade Mustard Seed. The sauce is great for dipping just about anything you can imagine: Chicken, French Fries, Carrots, Pretzels, {my kids love dipping their crunchy pretzel sticks, while I prefer dipping soft pretzels}. You can even dip Carrots, Celery, etc., and give kids a fun way to eat their veggies!

New French’s Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce has replaced my pricey honey mustard and has become a new staple to go along with our chicken nuggets. And it definitely gets 2 thumbs up from all of us here at 5 Vinez Monkeys.

If you want to try New French’s Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce, it’s available at your favorite place to buy groceries. And, before you go shopping, head to the French’s website to print off a 75 cent coupon. That should sweeten the deal even more.
