Outdoor Fun with Backyard Safari Outfitters {Review}

Backyard Safari
Last year, my boys got to test out some really great items from Backyard Safari. They still play with those toys all the time, especially now that we live in an area that’s surrounded by woods. You should see some of the bugs they have sucked up with the Bug Vacuum! It sends shivers up my spine just thinking about it! {ick!}

This summer, we got a new set of toys to play with and test out thanks to Team Mom and Backyard Safari Outfitters! When the box arrived, you would have thought it was Christmas morning! Inside the box we found the Base Camp Expedition, Camouflage, Mega Magnifier, and a Hiking Stick.

Since Zander got to do the last review, I promised Jace that he could do this one.

I have to tell you, these items have been *such* a hit with all my kids! We’ve had the products for several weeks now, and my kids have spent more time camping in the living room than they have in their beds. They’ll take turns sleeping in the tent, and they have a ball. They boys have been begging me to let them sleep outside in the tent, but with a bear that’s taken up residence in our woods, I’m not too keen on that idea. That’s why we’ve been spending so many nights camping in the living room. At least it’s safe… and bear free!

The boys have taken the tent outside – a lot – and they’ll play for hours with all of the toys we received both this year and last year. They love putting the camouflage over the tent and pretending that they’re on a top secret mission. I’ll catch them sneaking through the woods, gear in hand, magnifying bugs and then sucking them up into the Bug Vacuum. The laughter and screams of delight make me smile every day.

And not just my older boys get in on the action. Lucy, Parker, and Ashley all love seeing what kind of strange bugs they can find and bringing them to me. {Although I’m pretty sure they all just like seeing how high they can make Mom jump by scaring her with the bugs they catch!} And even if it means I have to put up with some scary bugs, I am more than willing to do so to see my kids happy.

Backyard SafariI love Backyard Safari and the creative play it encourages. My kids are playing together, exploring nature, and having FUN. What more could a mom ask for?

Another great feature that Backyard Safari Outfitters has come up with is the Patch Program. Zander has become obsessed with seeing how many patches he can earn. His goal is to earn every single patch and fill up his entire cargo vest. I’m all for it, and I can’t wait to see him achieve his goal!
