This morning, Zander and I were working on Phonics. He was doing the letter S and we were combining the S sound with the different vowel sounds. After we went through all of the vowel sounds he asked, “Mom, why do I have to learn this stuff and say it so many times?” I explained that learning the sounds will help him learn to read. Then he asked me, “But won’t you always be here to read to me?”
