So, How Did You Spend Your Morning?

I spent my morning chasing 4 baby cows through our yard and back into the pasture. Just how one wants to start out the day.

Hubby was at work, and I was lying in bed, trying to sleep. Around 7:30, I hear a Mama cow just bleating her poor little heart out. I tried to ignore it for a few minutes, but she just got louder and louder. I get up, look out the window, and there are 4 baby cows in our yard. 3 pretty little black ones and one light brown one with a white face. Super cute, but these babies are destructive!
As soon as I walked outside, the light brown one took off up the driveway. I figured it would be better to save the other 3 and go after the other one later. I chased these silly things all over the yard, watching them bang into the barbwire fence time after time after time. Stupid cows. Finally, one went under the fence. I was able to get the gate open for the other two. As I was walking up the driveway to find the last cow, hubby pulled into the driveway. (Our driveway is a 1/4 mile long.) I put him in charge of finding the last baby cow and getting it back into the pasture. Luckily, the cow went back into the pasture up by Uncle Richard & Aunt Linda’s house, so no cows were harmed in their little escapade.

All I can say is that when we build a house, I am building a 10 foot wooden fence all the way around the house. Let’s see the cows get in then!

So, how was your morning?

Thankfully, my morning didn't have any escaped calves! However, I have chased a few cows and calves out of the yard on occasion. Not my yard but my grandma's (now it belongs to my parents). You're right. They are destructive!
