30 Day Photography Challenge: Day THIRTY

Day Thirty: Free Choice

My Little Loves

I can’t believe we made it! 30 days! Wooohooo!!! I’m so proud of those of you who have participated! Give yourself a big pat on the back!!

So, today’s challenge was free choice. While my picture isn’t fancy and was taken with my iPhone, it is what I am most proud of: my amazing kids. I am the luckiest mama around!

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day TWENTY EIGHT

Day Twenty Eight: Furry Friends

Furry Friends
I am so, so late getting this up today! It has been a horrible day around here, and I’m not feeling so hot. So, I’m cheating and grabbing an old picture for today’s challenge. This is Lucy and our kitten, Peanut, last summer. They’ve both grown a LOT since then!

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day TWENTY SEVEN

Day Twenty Seven: Abandoned

Abandoned

Abandoned
There’s actually a story behind this building. Many, many years ago – back when my grandfather (now 89) was a child – this was the local “grocery store” for the area. I’ve always wanted to go inside and see if there was a jar or something left inside, but I’ve never worked up the courage. I’m afraid I’d find more spiders and rats than anything else! 🙂 I think it’s a neat little building, though, and the story behind it is pretty cool too.

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day TWENTY FOUR

Day Twenty Four: Easter

Easter

To me, Easter means little boys dressing up in their Easter Suits. (And little girls in their beautiful new dresses!) I took this picture of Jace back in 2007 for Easter, and it’s still one of my favorites of him today!

My very favorite color! This is an old shirt that Lucy wore when she was about a month old. I love it so much that I just couldn’t get rid of it!

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day TWENTY-ONE

Day Twenty One: Church

Church Outside

Church inside
This is one of my favorite little churches that I’ve found down here. I got to shoot a wedding at this church, and I couldn’t get over how gorgeous the stained glass windows were. This isn’t my church, though, so I have to share that with you now, just because it’s one of my very favorite places to be:

My Church <3

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day NINETEEN

Day Nineteen: Insects

Insects
Ok, so this one was REALLY hard for me. I couldn’t find any bugs to shoot yesterday, so I had to go with “spiderman.” (And, yes, I know that technically a spider is not an insect, but I’m tell you, I had a really hard time with this one!) Hope you all did better than me!

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day FIFTEEN

Day Fifteen: Vintage/Antique

Vintage
Ok, So I didn’t take this picture. That’s actually ME in the photograph a long time ago. Anyway, I love this photo. My Daddy took it when I was 4 years old. Believe me, it’s vintage. And if you’re being kind and still don’t think that’s old enough, the tractor was an antique way back then. I scanned it in several years ago, and now I’m wishing I had saved it in a larger size. I can’t find the original print to save my life. Guess this will just have to do for today!

30 Day Photo Challenge: Day FOURTEEN

Day Fourteen: Architecture

Architecture

My favorite place to shoot is downtown Chicago. I lived in the suburbs for 11 years, and loved having the option of going into the city. Where I live now is beautiful, but the city girl in me will always long for big buildings, amazing museums, and yes – even traffic jams. This shot was taken a few years ago when I attended a photography convention in Chicago. Now, whenever I think of architecture, this photo is the first one that comes to mind. I think it will always be my favorite.

Hmmmm……. time for a road trip?! Not sure I could do Georgia to Chicago with 6 kids!

I love the texture in this crocheted baby hat. I can’t wait until Gage’s head is big enough to fit in it so I can take some real pictures!

Day Eight: Where I Live

Where I Live

One thing that’s pretty much a guarantee around here is that whenever you get on the road and start driving, you will be surrounded by mountains. For the first year I lived down here, I’d get giddy every time I got in the car because I couldn’t get over how beautiful it was every where we went!
