“Isabella and Her Polka Dot Umbrella” {Childrens Book Review}

One of my favorite things to do is read with my kids. My daughter Lucy loves when she and I get to sit down and read together. So, when I was asked to review “Isabella and Her Polka Dot Umbrella,” I jumped at the chance.

The little girl in the story reminds me so much of my Lucy. Isabella is a very busy little girl, who has a hard time going to sleep at night. Her parents try everything they can to wear her out during the day: they buy her a trampoline, take her to gymnastics class, anything they can think of. Then, one rainy day, Isabella’s mom gives her a polka dot umbrella and sends her outside (along with their dog Elvis). The adventures that they have because of this umbrella bring her lots of joy and her imagination runs wild.

Lucy loved reading the story of Elvis, Isabella, and her polka dot umbrella. I am quite certain that if I gave Lucy a polka dot umbrella we would get the same results that Isabella’s parents did. 🙂

The graphics and colors in the book are amazing. The detail in the artwork is just beautiful, and every single page is frame worthy.

Lucy and I both give this book 2 thumbs up. We loved the story, we loved the pictures, and we loved spending time together reading it. It’s not too long, making it the perfect bedtime story, or it can be used as a tool to spark a conversation with your little ones. For example, you could ask your child, “What would you do with the umbrella?” or “Could you pretend an umbrella was your airplane?” or other questions.

I highly recommend this book to any family that loves to read together. Right now, you can purchase “Isabella and Her Polka Dot Umbrella” on Amazon for just $12.95. (And it’s eligible for free Super Saver Shipping!) It’s an excellent value, and would make the perfect addition to your home library.
