In celebration of moms this Mother’s Day, online retailer zulily.com is honoring new moms nationwide by taking a closer look at something they all can relate to –budgeting for all things baby!

Read on here for some of the survey insights they found regarding spending and saving habits when preparing for baby:

  • With annual childcare costs hovering around $6,000, it’s crucial to choose (and pay!) the right person to watch your kids. In our survey Julia Roberts was voted the top celeb moms would let babysit, but Kim Kardashian didn’t make the cut and was only selected by 3% of respondents.
  • Raising kids can get pretty pricey, so it’s no surprise a third of mothers surveyed said they’d compete in a monthly random dance battle (32%) in exchange for free baby gear, attire, etc.
  • Almost half of mothers surveyed (45%) said the most missed pre-mom indulgence is actually having a day off.
  • 33% of moms agreed that the most common squabble couples have regarding new parenting is about money.

With all the above stats, it’s no wonder moms everywhere are always on the lookout for smarter ways to spend on baby, and online retailer zulily is dedicated to helping their plight by serving up fresh, unexpected items for baby and the whole family, in fact, just in the last year customers have saved millions of dollars on baby gear items. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Savings on baby blankets: over $2.4M
  • Total savings on key items needed to set up a nursery: over $2.6M
  • Savings on all baby feeding supplies: over $4.5M

Be sure to check back on zulily.com or on their app every morning to discover new finds, especially on Mother’s Day (May 8th) for their Moms First event, to shop everything a new mama wouldn’t want to be without.

Mother’s Jewelry – Perfect for Any Mom

It’s no secret that I love jewelry. And when that jewelry has anything to do with my kids, it makes it even more special. I have several pieces of mother’s jewelry that I’ve either received as gifts, had made for a review, or bought for myself, and they are pieces that I wear most frequently. (Plus, since I keep having kids, that means I keep getting new jewelry! It’s a win-win, right?!)

Today I want to share some of my favorite places to buy mother’s jewelry. You may want to leave these recommendations up on your computer so that your significant other accidentally stumbles upon them.

  • Something 2 Brag About – Becci first contacted me about doing a review on a mother’s bracelet for her. It was the first time that a review piece ever made me cry. (You can read the full review here.) Family Birthstone BraceletThe bracelet was so beautiful, and so personal that I couldn’t believe she had taken so much time on something for someone she barely even knew. I still wear the bracelet all the time, and I’ve already been talking to her about creating a new piece after Gage is born. Whenever I need a special mothers gift for someone I know, Becci is my first stop. I’ve had her do a couple of custom orders, and she always blows me away. Her bracelets are absolutely gorgeous, and she takes the time to get the piece exactly right. She’s always my first choice when it comes to mother’s bracelets.
  • Jules Jewelry – I received the Family Birthstone Heart Charm Necklace as a gift from the leaders of my local MOPS group as a Christmas present. Again, another tear fest ensued, because I wasn’t expecting anything at all, much less something so personal and just beautiful. I wear the necklace all the time, and I just love to show it off! After browsing the Jules Jewelry site, I couldn’t get over how many beautiful designs she offers. It’s all so beautiful and so delicate. I just can’t stop adding everything in her shop to my wish list!
  • Kristen’s Custom Creations – A dear friend of mine sent me a hand-stamped necklace from Kristen’s shop right after Parker was born. It has all 5 of the kids names stamped on it and 3 beautiful crystals hanging on it. I wear this necklace a lot, and people are always complimenting me on it. It’s perfect for my dress-down or casual days. (Most days!) And you can bet that I will definitely be asking her if she can create a custom piece after Gage joins our family. And I know it’s not mother’s jewelry, but my favorite piece in her shop right now is the “Capture Life” necklace. I am so asking hubby to get me that for my birthday!

Those are my favorite places to find mother’s jewelry online. Mother’s jewelry is the perfect gift for any new or experienced mom, and something she will absolutely treasure forever.
