Since 1925, 3rd generation family-owned Torani has been crafting great tasting flavored syrups that coffeehouses use to make their flavored drinks taste so delicious. With over 120 flavors in Regular and Sugar Free varieties, Torani flavored syrups are perfect for flavored lattes, mochas, coffees, cocoas, Italian sodas, teas, lemonades, cocktails and smoothies. Coffeehouse professionals choose Torani flavors because they are expertly crafted and made with the highest quality ingredients, like natural flavors and pure cane sugar. The Sugar Free flavors have no calories and are sweetened with Splenda. Now, Torani flavored syrups are widely available at retail so you can easily create authentic coffeehouse quality drinks at home.

For my review, I was sent 2 bottles of Torani syrups: Hazelnut and Pumpkin Pie. The perfect flavors for the holidays!

The syrups were a hit at our Thanksgiving dinner. I watched as family members poured the syrups into their coffee, soda, and even sweet tea.  The bottle of the Hazelnut flavor was gone almost as soon as I opened it. I think it was the biggest hit. (I never got to try it… by the time I was ready to pour it into my drink, it was completely gone!)

When we got home from our celebration that night, I decided to try the Pumpkin Pie syrup in a drink recipe for me and my husband.

My husband and I both decided we would try the Mayan Pumpkin Cocoa. I didn’t have the Torani chocolate sauce, so I had to improvise, but this was still so good. It had just the right amount of pumpkin to chocolate ratio, and I truly believe it would have been even better if I had the Torani chocolate sauce. (I’ve added that to my shopping list for Christmas dinner!) I will probably end up getting both the regular chocolate sauce as well as the dark chocolate. I just love dark chocolate, and I think it would give the cocoa an even better flavor.

I am really impressed with the quality and flavor of the Torani syrups, and I will definitely be purchasing more for my Christmas and New Years celebrations. I’m excited that our local grocery store carries quite a few flavors, so I can really stock up! Plus, if my store doesn’t have exactly what I’m looking for, the Torani website allows me to buy products from them directly, or locate another store that might have what I’m looking for.

Flavor up your holidays this year with a bottle of Torani syrups. I promise your drink creations (and even food recipes!) will be the hit of the party. Check out the recipe page and start creating now!

Disclaimer: I am participating in a She Speaks blog tour for Torani. I received 2 large bottles of Torani syrups in order to facilitate my review. Opinions expressed are 100% my own and have not been influenced in any way.

Holiday Madness, Updates, and Ramblings

I apologize for the scarcity around here. Things have been just a little more than crazy lately. Here’s the latest update:

  • I’m not sure if you remember or not, but when Gage was younger, the doctor discovered he had a hydrocele. This week, I had to take him back for a follow up visit with the doctor to see if he’ll need to go back to the specialist and schedule a surgery. I am happy to report that his hydrocele is healing on it’s own, and it looks like surgery will not be necessary. The doctor will continue to keep an eye on it at his well visits, but as of right now, things look great! Praise the Lord.
  • I am still dealing with very painful attacks, even though I have been on a Vitamin D regimen for  some time now. My next step is to visit a neurologist. I can’t even begin to tell you how nervous I am about that. But, something has to be done. The attacks are getting so painful that I cannot function when one happens. Gene and I spent yesterday running around town, and I had to spend most of the time in the car in tears because I was in so much pain. I’m really hoping I can get some answers soon.
  • My husband is also falling apart. {Might as well do it together!} He went in for blood work and x-rays on both knees yesterday. It’s looking like surgery will be in his very near future. Yippee.
  • Since that’s not enough going on, Gene and I are looking to move into a new house next month. It’s so much bigger than where we are right now, and it’s about 5 minutes from our church – which is where we spend most of our time anyway. It will put him farther from where he’s working now, but we firmly believe it’s a move for the better. Plus, it will also put me less than 5 minutes from my best friend, so I’m thrilled about that. We’ll find out this coming week when we’ll be able to move in and everything.
  • Then let’s throw in all the added stress of the holidays. For some reason, my Christmas spirit has gone kaput. There’s just so much going on right now that I don’t even want to think about the holidays. I just want a nap.

So, if I disappear for a day or two here or there, I hope you’ll understand and will continue to check in around here. I’m not running off, I just might not be able to log on as much as I’d like to until things calm down.

Give me some good news…. what’s going on in YOUR life right now?

Happy Birthday, America!

Happy Independence Day!
I hope each of you that’s celebrating today has a safe and Happy 4th of July!

Fabulous 4th of July Recipe

I love the 4th of July – and not just because it’s the day after my birthday. 🙂

I love the red, white, and blue, the fireworks, the festivities, and everything that Independence Day stands for. I am so thankful to live in the USA.

Since my birthday falls so close to the holiday, I love to keep the “theme” of the 4th.

This year, I’ve decided to make my own birthday cake instead of going with a store-bought cake.

I found this awesome recipe on Betty Crocker’s website, and I am getting ready to make it now. I can’t wait to see how it turns out!

Edited to add: The cake was a disaster. I went to flip it onto the cooling rack, and the cake crumbled into a million pieces. I just walked away for a few minutes. I couldn’t stand to look at it. I went to go clean it up a few minutes later, and my daughter had pieced it all back together. It’s still a mess, but it means SO much to me that she wanted to fix it for me.

Here’s what she did:

She is so sweet. She wanted to finish it, so I let her put the icing on. We’ll enjoy it tomorrow after hubby gets off work.

Here’s the finished cake:

It might not be the prettiest cake in the entire world, and it might have been was a total flop, but I’m pretty sure this is my favorite cake ever, just because Ashley made it special.

If you make the cake, let me know if you have better luck!

Merry Christmas!

From our family to yours, may you have a blessed day!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I count you as one of my many blessings!

One Proud Momma…

On Sunday night, our church had their Christmas program. My 4 oldest kids each had a part in the program. Ashley, Zander, Jace, and Lucy all had speaking parts, and Lucy sang a solo toward the end of the program. I was so proud of each of them. They all did such a great job! They spoke their lines perfectly, and Lucy almost came in on time. (Not bad for a 4 year old!)

If you’d like to see the entire program, I’ve uploaded it to facebook. You can find it here: Revival Baptist Christmas Program 2010 I’m not sure if you have to add me as a friend to view it or not. I’ve tried to set it up so you can just watch it. If you try to watch and can’t, let me know.

Since the full length video is almost 20 minutes long, I’ll just give you a little taste and let you enjoy Lucy singing her song:

Hope you enjoyed that! See why I’m so proud? Oh, and yes… that’s Jace in the background swinging his arms and playing with his crown. He couldn’t let Lucy have *all* the attention.
