Some of the services and equipment options that are provided by these services are found here.

Delivery and Pickup of Equipment Rented
The equipment you rent from the hire service will be delivered in a timely manner to your chosen location and then picked up when your event is over. In most cases, you will be asked to re-box any smaller equipment rentals prior to pickup to save the company time. However, this service alone can help to save you quite a bit of time and frustration when trying to plan your event.

Huge Selections of Linens, Flatware and Dishes
Are you planning a meal, or even snacks, at your event or party? If so, you need all the necessities. While you have the option to go to an outlet store to pick up paper plates, cups and napkins, consider the type of impression this would convey. While this may be find for a child’s party, it is not usually a good option for professional or adult events. When you find a quality hire company you will also be able to find all the necessary equipment for a pleasant eating experience.

Quality Furniture and Equipment
When you find a quality equipment hire service, they will also be able to provide you with a huge variety of different types of equipment, including catering tools and furniture. Some of the most popular types of equipment that is rented out include:

  • Barbecue Grills
  • Fully fitted kitchens
  • Tables
  • Chairs
  • Banquet tables

Each of these items can be instrumental in the overall success of your event or party.

Tips for Selecting a Venue
While you may believe that the only purpose served by an equipment hire service is provisions of the equipment you need, this is simply not true. After all they are in this business. This will mean that they may be able to provide you with some insight regarding venues in the area and what the best one for your particular needs may be. Doing this can save you even more time and hassle along the way.

Finding the right equipment is the only way to ensure an event is successful.

Gardening With Glass Jars and Containers

It is the age of recycling and reusing – can anything be better than reusing your old glass jars, containers and bottles for gardening? You can prepare a lovely portable garden or an indoor garden with designer glass jars and containers. Glass packages are available in a number of designs and sizes. You can use any number of these jars, containers, tubs, trays and bottles for your gardening. You can easily place these packaging items on porches, on your sunny windowsills or simply hang them as a vertical gardening.bottle

If you love container gardening, this is a great opportunity to use plenty of packaging material which you have at home and no longer use. All that is needed is a bit of creativity, some innovation and lots of patience. You will have the garden of your choice in a few months.

Selecting the Container Size
Your container size will depend on the plant you wish to have. If you wish to grow a large plant, you will obviously need a large jar or a container so that the roots have enough space to spread out. If you plan to have a smaller plant, a smaller size jar or container will do the work for you. The best part is that packaging containers, bottles and jars are available in a variety of sizes – thus, no matter what size you need, you will find it all.

Maturing Time
The longer time the plant takes to mature, the larger shall be your container and jar size. If you choose a smaller size container or a jar, your plant might not survive.

Your container plants will need plenty of sunshine. Thus, you need to ensure that the plants are placed in a place where they shall get plenty of sunshine. Sunlight will keep them healthy and they will grow fast. Vertical gardening is a great way to ensure you have a lively green garden.bottle2

Rooftop Gardening
If you are planning a rooftop garden and using plastic containers and jars, you need to be cautious a bit! Rooftops tend to get a bit windy and hence, if you are growing plants on roof, you need to set up a windbreak. You can use lattice which shall not cast a shade and shall allow sunlight reach the plants which will help them grow healthily.

Do Not Overcrowd
You might feel really excited with your container gardening and the plants you are growing but do not overcrowd. Overcrowding or keeping plants close to one another will not allow them to grow them conveniently. You need to remember that one tomato plant in a large plant will certainly produce more number of tomatoes than three plants in one container.

You will be working hard with your plants and to ensure their healthy growth, you need to offer enough compost to your plants. Composting is food for plants and helps them stay strong and healthy. Keep your jars well drained so that excess water drains away easily and does not rot the roots. Composting will help the plants grow tall and healthy.

How to Build a Successful Candy Bar

If you haven’t heard of a candy buffet, then you are missing out! Want to have this intriguing sweet display at your next event? Then follow these guidelines for a successful and impressive candy bar.

Make Sure it Matches the Party Theme
While there are plenty of special events that can be improved with a candy buffet, you need to first make sure that the buffet matches with the theme of the event. Is it going to be a Christmas-inspired candy bar? Maybe you will use it for a Halloween party, or maybe during the Easter season? Then again, many clients choose candy bars for other occasions, such as birthdays, anniversary celebrations, or even bridal showers, bachelorette parties, and wedding receptions. The possibilities are endless, but be sure to make a decision so that you can start! Sweet Services offers candy buffets that will blow your mind and astound all of your guests. To begin, pick out a color palette (blue, green, etc.) and be sure that you choose a variety of sweets.

Include Everyone’s Favorite Sweets
To do this, just make sure that you include candies and chocolates that will appeal to your guests. If you need to, just ask what your guests’ favorite candies are. If you already know what your guests like, then you can get started on ordering! Sweet Services supplies many different kinds of candies, from vintage and traditional treats, to bite-sized chocolate bars, individual candy pieces, and so much more. Try to stick with your color palette so that everything looks well put-together and extremely enticing. For instance, if you have a red color palette, then maybe stick to red M&Ms and Skittles, and chocolates wrapped in red coverings (like red Hershey’s Kisses!) Have fun with it; it’s candy!

Keep Things Simple and Organized
Finally, perhaps the most important thing to remember is to keep everything neat and organized. Sometimes you really can make do with less, because you wouldn’t want your candy buffet to be overcrowded with so many sweets that people get overwhelmed. Of course it will depend on how big your party is and how many guests you have. Even so, be sure to have plates, bowls, and serving containers that can neatly hold the candy. You don’t want treats rolling around and onto the floor; plus it would be terrible to have chocolate smeared into your carpet or rug! If you’re stuck on where to start, get in touch with Sweet Services today and create your dream candy buffet.

How to Talk to Your Kids About Death

Talking about death with other adults can be an awkward, and sometimes a very upsetting and heart-breaking experience. It is even harder when you have to bring up the topic of death with children – perhaps they have learned that somebody has died and has asked you what it means, maybe you have been invited to a funeral, or perhaps you may even have to explain to your child that a loved one, such as a grandparent, has passed away. As hard as it may be to talk about it, death is an inevitable part of life, so here are some tips on how to approach this topic with your little ones in the best way possible.

Consider the Situation
First off all, it’s important to understand that there is no one-size-fits-all way to speak to your child about death. Some parents may find themselves having to come up with an explanation when their child overhears them talking about taking out life insurance. Others could find themselves having the conversation over the death of a pet. In the worst case scenario, you may need to explain death and dying to your child whilst making funeral plans for a much-loved family member. It’s also important to take your child’s personality into consideration when approaching this topic with them, too.

When talking to your child about death, it’s important to listen to what they have to say and allow them to ask any questions that they have. For example, you might expect questions from your child regarding planning a funeral and what it is for, why people die, where people go after they die, and whether or not they are going to die one day. These questions can be painful to answer, but it’s important that you are honest with your child and give them the answers, and the closure, in some cases, that they need.

How Much Information to Share
How much information that you share with your child about the subject of death is entirely dependent on the unique situation. For example, if you’re having a general conversation on the topic due to something that a child has heard or seen, there will be less information to share than in a situation where a close family member has died, for example. You will want to be as honest as possible with your child when answering their questions, but of course you do not want to share with them any information which is particularly traumatizing. Child psychologists recommend leaving out details which may unnecessarily upset your child, but avoiding referring to death as ‘going to sleep’, for example, as this may confuse them. Some parents may even help their child to understand by involving them a little in the funeral plan where applicable, for example asking them which color flowers would be best or allowing them to buy something special to place on the grave.

Talking to your little ones about death and dying is a conversation that most parents never want to have. But, it is sadly inevitable, which is why it’s important to make sure that you approach it right.

#Sponsored: Create a Burlap Print without Printing on Burlap @MyPrintly #CMYK #HPSmartMom

Disclaimer: This post is part of a sponsored campaign with MyPrintly and MomSelect. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Mother’s Day is just around the corner. It’s that one special day to celebrate Mom and let her know just how much you love her.

So, what do you get the mom who has everything?

I started by browsing There are so many great craft ideas on there. If you’ve never stopped by the site, you simply must do so. It’s the first place I go when I need to come up with an idea for gifts and my mind goes blank. It always gets my creative juices flowing again, and I’ve found some really great stuff to make because of the site.

While out and about in my daily endeavors recently, I came across some unique burlap prints. They were beautiful, but they were hand painted. Unfortunately, my artistic ability when it comes to freehand drawing is non-existent. I can’t even draw a stick figure without crooked lines.

But, I can design almost anything on the computer!

I had even found some laminated burlap at my local craft store. It said you could put it in the printer, but I noticed that the burlap sheds. I didn’t want to risk ruining my beautiful HP Envy printer by having it pull through a piece of burlap.

I wanted a way to make a burlap print without actually printing on the burlap.

You won’t believe how easy it is to make a burlap print without actually printing on burlap!

Here, take a minute and watch my video:

See how easy that was?

Let’s go over everything once again, and get you on your way to creating your own masterpiece.

burlap print

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • The design you want to print. (See my *Free* Printables below, create your own, find one on etsy…. the possibilities are endless!)
  • Transparency Film (Made for inkjet printers)
  • A printer
  • Burlap (either laminated burlap or a piece of burlap cut to size)
  • Picture frame

Next, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Using your printer, print out your design onto transparency paper. (If you use my printables below, they are all set to print as an 8″x10″. I include a black border so you know exactly where to cut your design out to fit in the frame. Just make sure your document is set to print at 100%.
  2. Cut out your design around the black lines. (If using my printable. If not, cut your design out to fit in the frame.)
  3. Place the design next to the glass, place the burlap (cut to size) behind it, and put on the back of the frame.
  4. Viola! That’s it! You now have a beautiful burlap frame, and there’s no chance of any burlap shedding and clogging up your printer.

I absolutely love the way these prints look! I foresee lots and lots of these in my future. 🙂

Now, let’s get on to the fun part. The free printables! I’ve got several designs for you to choose from. Just click on the image to be taken to the full size image. Right click on the large image (not the small one!), save it to your computer, and then print it out using the instructions above:

What is a Twitter Party?

As I mentioned in today’s earlier post, I will be guest hosting the Clorox #ToiletWand twitter party tomorrow afternoon. Because of this, I’ve had several people ask me about twitter parties: What are they? Are they easy to follow? Are they worth the time? How can I participate? Can you really win stuff?

So, I decided to put up a post answering all of those questions and helping you get the most out of a twitter party. Hopefully, you’ll walk away from the post full of information, and you’ll join your first twitter party feeling like a pro. (Maybe you’ll try it out at tomorrow’s party?!)

First, what is a twitter party?

  • A twitter party is a virtual party held using the twitter platform. They usually last between 1 -2 hours and focus on a certain topic. Most twitter parties will have an “expert” on hand to lead and encourage discussions. Twitter parties often have question and answer times, prizes, and much more. And in order to participate, you MUST have a twitter account.

Are they easy to follow?

  • Yes and no. It depends on how you try to follow them. If you log into and search the twitter party’s hashtag, you will quickly get lost and feel discouraged. To follow a twitter party, I highly recommend using TweetGrid. It’s the easiest way that I’ve found to follow a twitter party. You set the grids to do multiple searches at once. Here’s what my tweet grid will look like tomorrow for the #ToiletWand twitter party (click to make it bigger) :

Are they worth the time?

  • Absolutely! You’ll have the chance to learn something new, get tips and tricks, make new twitter friends, and even win prizes! Since most parties only last an hour or two, the time flies by. It is absolutely worth it!

How can I participate?

  • First, you must have a twitter account. If you don’t have one, they’re free and easy to set up. Next, log into tweetgrid with your twitter username about 5 – 10 minutes before the party so that you have enough time to set it up correctly. Then, just jump in! Watch the hosts of the party closely. They may ask questions to win prizes. Reply to their questions, and make sure you use the proper hashtag for the party. If you don’t put the hashtag in, your answer probably won’t get seen. TweetGrid allows you to put the hashtag in every tweet, making it a whole lot harder for you to forget! Before you know it, the party will be over!

Can you really win stuff?

  • You absolutely can! I’ve attended lots of twitter parties, and while I haven’t won something at every party, I have walked away from some parties with some really fabulous stuff! I’ve won gift cards, an ipod touch, memory cards, batteries, and lots more. Even if I don’t win, I’ve still had a great time, and don’t ever feel like I’ve wasted my time.

I hope that helps you out and encourages you to start joining twitter parties. And in case I didn’t explain it well enough, there’s actually a website dedicated to twitter parties. You can learn more about them by clicking here. And, as always, if you have any more questions, just ask!

I’d love to see lots of you join us for the #ToiletWand twitter party tomorrow!
