Fairy Tales Hair Care Products { @fairytalesinc Review}

If you’ve been a reader on my blog for any amount of time, you’ve probably come across pictures of my kids. My daughter Lucy, has very long, thin, curly hair, and it is an absolute nightmare to deal with in the winter. Because we’ve had so many cold, harsh days lately, we have dealt with tangles, static, and more bad hair days than I’d even like to count.

Fairy Tales Hair CareSo, when I got the opportunity to review several products from Fairy Tales Hair Care, I jumped at the chance. Maybe this would be just what we needed to keep Lucy’s hair from being unruly and just plain hard to deal with.

Here are the products I received for my review:

  • Conditioning Shampoo
  • Detangling Conditioner
  • Static Free Leave-in Detangling Spray

When the box arrived, Lucy was SO excited. She just knew the items had to be for her, because there was a castle on there. She asked if I had gotten her some new Princess shampoo.

She was so excited, in fact, that she couldn’t wait until that evening to get her bath. I gave in and allowed her to hop in the bathtub. I was almost as excited to try out the new products on her hair and see if they would make any difference.

The products smell absolutely amazing. I can’t quite describe the scent, but it’s sweet and not overly potent. Just perfect for a little girl’s hair.

Lucy's hairWhen she got out of the tub, we sprayed her hair with the detangling spray. {It had the same yummy scent.} I couldn’t believe how easy it was to comb through her hair. Usually combing Lucy’s hair is a fight. There are tears, and millions of “Are you done yet”s. But not this time. In fact, when I had finished combing her hair, she asked, “Are you done already?!” Talk about a nice change!

Since it was earlier in the day, Lucy asked if I would straighten her hair. I figured that would be the ultimate test of the products. Would her hair look thin and stringy and filled with static, or would these products actually make her hair look better?

I’m delighted to tell you that they worked – beautifully! You can see in the picture just how long Lucy’s hair is – and there’s hardly a “fly-away” hair to be found anywhere. Her hair feels healthier, looks shinier, and is absolutely gorgeous. We both love it!

I would highly recommend Fairy Tales Hair Care Products to any mom with a little girl. I am super impressed by how well they tamed my Lucy’s crazy hair, and will continue to use these products on her hair.

Happy 5th Birthday, Lulu!

It’s hard to believe that my baby girl, Lucy, is 5 years old today.

When we found out Lucy was on her way, my heart soared! I had prayed and prayed for another baby girl, and God had answered.

I had an incredibly difficult pregnancy with Lucy. She had a two-vessel cord, and there were so many complications because of it. She beat all the odds, though, and was born weighing a healthy 8 pounds 3 ounces. You’d never know to look at her how hard it was to get her here safely.

This has been a fun year for Lucy. We started a preschool curriculum here at home, and she’s doing great. She loves counting and drawing, and she’s trying so hard to write her name. It won’t be long before she’s got it down. This afternoon, she’ll open her presents which will consist of her first two-wheel bike.

I remember when Lucy was 2, she still had hardly any hair on her head at all. Just a few little spit curls. Amazing how long and gorgeous those few curls have become!

Lulu, I want you to know how proud I am of you. You are such a sweet and beautiful little girl, and I am so thankful that God picked me to be your mommy. I love you, honey. Keep being exactly who you are.

Mega Bloks Dora Playset: Dora’s Bathtime {Review}

Dora Bathtime PlaysetMy kids are big fans of Mega Bloks, and my daughter Lucy absolutely loves Dora. So, when Mega Bloks created their Dora Playsets, and Team Mom gave me (andLucy!) the opportunity to review one, I jumped at the chance!

We received the Dora’s Bathtime Set. Lucy and I had so much fun putting it together. Her favorite part was adding the stickers on the blocks. The one bummer, though, was that Boots was just a sticker. Since Boots is our favorite friend of Dora’s, it was disappointing that he wasn’t an actual figurine. And I really didn’t get why the brush was a sticker on a block too. Even if Dora doesn’t have real hair, it still would have been nice to have a brush and not a brush sticker on a block.  Lucy seemed to be ok with it, though, and she still plays with the set for hours and hours. She loves that you can change Dora’s skirt and hang up the one that she’s not using on a tiny little hanger. She also loved the little “rubber ducky” that came with it so that Dora can have a toy to play with in the bathtub.

Dora PlaysetOne feature that I really love is that you can play with this set alone, or use it along with other Mega Bloks playsets. It’s very versatile, and it’s been tons of fun for Lucy.

At $14.99, the playset is a great value from Mega Bloks. Honestly? I would pay a bit more if the set came with a “real” brush and a Boots figurine.

There are several Dora playsets available from Mega Bloks, and you can check them out at the Mega Bloks Family Club website. (Be sure to join the Mega Bloks Family Club if you haven’t already. As a member, you can get exclusive offers, contest information, informative newsletters, even $5 off coupons and so much more!) The Dora playsets are also available at Toys “R” Us, Walmart, select Target stores, and on Amazon.com.
