When @WaltDisneyWorld Meets #Atlanta, You Get #DisneySocial

This past Saturday, my kids and I had the most incredible opportunity given to us. We were invited to attend a #DisneySocial event at the W Atlanta – Buckhead Hotel.

jaceWhen I received the invitation, I got all giddy. When it comes to Walt Disney World, I am truly the world’s biggest kid. I love anything and everything Disney. I get it from my Dad. He was Disney obsessed – going so far as to give each member of the family a “Disney Name.” (Mine is Donald Duck. Apparently, I have a temper? 😉 ) We would visit Disney World as often as we could as kids, and we would ride every ride from open to close at the Magic Kingdom. If I could have lived anywhere, I wanted to live at Wal Disney World. And when my husband and I got married, you can bet I priced weddings at Walt Disney World. Now that we’ve got 6 kids, each one of them has a “Disney Name” just like my family did growing up. And hubby and I are dreaming of the day when we can take all of our kids to Disney World.

As you can tell, my love for Disney runs deep. That’s why this was such an honor, and I wasn’t going to let anything prevent us from going.

We arrived in the Buckhead area of Atlanta just a short time before the event was about to start. We pulled up to the hotel, and they parked our car for us. Once we inside the hotel, the kids went silent. It was absolutely beautiful. I know where I’m taking hubby if we ever get to sneak off for a night with just the two of us! I just wish hubby had been there to

We headed back to the area where the #DisneySocial was going on, and we got our nametags on. Then, it was time for fun! The kids and I all had a blast. The kids played games and toys, put puzzles together, hula-hooped, and even had balloon sword fights with new friends. When I wasn’t chasing 6 kids around, I was mingling with some pretty amazing bloggers. I met bloggers from all over the Atlanta area, and I’m certain new friendships were formed. I was introduced to several members of the Georgia Social Media Moms Group, and I was even invited to join their group. I can’t wait to meet up with these fantastic bloggers again!

After playing for awhile, we went into a room where everyone got their own set of “ears” and had a yummy lunch. The lunch was perfect for the kids – mini burgers, mini pizza, fruit… and even some more grown-up choices for the big kids.

Then, it was time for dessert. Rice Cereal treats from Minnie’s Bake Shop shaped like Mickey and ice cream cones. The kids were in heaven!

After that, it was back to more playing, getting painted by the face painting artist (who was amazing!), and more balloon fun.

At the end of it all, they gave me an amazing gift bag full of goodies – an umbrella, a photo album, a mirror, a book mark and more… I even got my own set of sparkly Minnie ears.

We had such an amazing time at the #DisneySocial, and we are so honored to have been invited.

I would give anything to be able to take my kids to Disney World, but with so many of them, I just don’t know how we’d ever afford it. That made the #DisneySocial that much more special, because they brought Disney World to my kids!

Thank you, Disney, for allowing me the opportunity to attend such an amazing event. The memories we made that day will last a lifetime!

Gahh! Somehow I missed meeting you! It was a lot of fun, and my daughter refused to leave the princess table 🙂

My Lucy wouldn’t leave the Princess table either.

I really think if my husband had been there to help me with the kids, I would have been much more social!

Hopefully we’ll get to meet up at another event soon!

Hello again, Angie (right?) My husband, daughter and I sat at your table for lunch at the event. I was very impressed with your children – they all seemed so well behaved. I was fretting over my daughter and worrying about her getting overwhelmed that I didn’t really allow myself to have as much fun as I could have. Lesson learned, right? It was very nice to meet you. I hope that we run into each other at some more local events.

Autumn! I am so glad you stopped by! I’ve been trying to find your blog, but I had no idea where to start. I’m so sorry I wasn’t more sociable at our table. I was so worried about keeping my kids in line that I didn’t even think how rude I probably seemed. Your daughter is so beautiful, and she was an angel! Now that I’ve got a link to your blog, you can bet I will be keeping tabs on you. I hope we meet again soon and can really talk next time.
