Wordless Wednesday: Banged Up Beauty

This Wordless Wednesday is going to be one of my “anything but wordless” Wednesdays.

On Monday night, we had our ladies meeting at church. I took both Ashley and Lucy with me. While we were there, Lucy took off running back to Ash. She slipped and fell, banging her face into a large plastic tray that holds 2 liters of soda. She screamed, and when I picked her up, there was blood. I got her to the bathroom, and with the help of a friend who works in hospice, we got her cleaned up as best we could. The cut seemed really deep to me, so I headed off to the ER.

After waiting for an hour, (so much fun with a potty training child!), they finally took us back. The doctor said that it looked so deep because it swelled so much so fast. He also said that she would probably look like she had gotten hit by a truck because she burst a blood vessel in her right eye and banged her right cheek in her fall. He had the nurse wash it out with saline, put a bandaid on it, and then they sent us home.

After hours of fighting and many, many tears last night, she finally fell asleep. I snapped this picture to remember yet another trip to the ER.

And I don’t even want to know how much that bandaid is gonna cost……

Poor little one. I still think you should wrap her in some bubble wrap – LOL! Praying that she feels better soon.

    Oh, I feel for her.
We haven't made it to the ER yet (touch wood).
That's a really cute picture with that giant bandaid.

Awww, poor little thing! I remember all my late night trips to Nightime Pediatrics for injuries. Hope she's doing better.
