Wright on Time Book Series for Homeschooling Families (Review)

I am so excited to introduce you to a family that stars in the brand new book series, Wright on Time. The Wright family (Harrison {Dad}, Stephanie {Mom}, Nadia, and Aidan) live in an RV and travel the USA. Each book in the series is set in a different state and has a different educational (but fun!) theme. The books are written by Lisa M. Cottrell-Bently after spending hours with her daughters searching for children’s books about homeschoolers and finding very few.

Thanks to the Parent Reviewers, I had the opportunity to read and review the first two books in the Wright on Time series. We got to read Wright on Time : Arizona and Wright on Time : Utah. As a homeschooling mom, I couldn’t have been more excited about getting the chance to check out these books about a homeschooling family.

The books arrived, and we couldn’t wait to dive in. The first book in the series is about Arizona. Zander, my 6 year old, couldn’t wait to read it because his Uncle Adam (my brother) lives in Arizona. Every day, Zander is required to read for 30 minutes. Some days he does more, and others I’m lucky to get him to go the entire 30 minutes. The day that I gave him Wright on Time: Arizona to read, his eyes lit up. We sat down to read it together, and the time just flew by. Before I knew it, he had passed his 30 required minutes and was well on his way into the book. But instead of stopping for the day, he had to know what happened next to the Wright family. So, we kept reading. He ended up finishing the book! The next day, he did the exact same thing with the Wright on Time: Utah book. Ashley (my 12 year old) loved the books as much as Zander did, and kept spouting interesting facts that she had learned by reading them. (Did you know the Honey Bee is the state insect of Utah? Or that Arizona only averages 12.7 inches of rain a year?) And she couldn’t wait to call her Uncle Adam and tell him all the things she learned about Arizona. She’s dying to get out there and visit him now.

Overall, we are super impressed with the Wright on Time books. My kids loved reading about other homeschooling kids that were right around their ages. They also really enjoyed learning about Arizona and Utah. I really enjoyed reading the books with Jace and Lucy also. The books were funny and interesting and kept the kids anxious to learn more. I would recommend these books to any homeschooling family – or any family that wants to learn more about the USA. My kids and I can’t wait until the next book comes out and read what happens next with the Wright Family!
